About
Why LeadBuildLive exists.
We help leaders bring their full selves to their life and leadership, for the good of the world.
Founded by a leader who did the deeper work.
LeadBuildLive was founded by Larry Boatright. His father was killed in a car accident five days before he was born, and he's been learning what it takes to become whole ever since.
For nearly 30 years Larry has led from the middle of real organizations. Executive director. Chief of staff. Interim lead pastor for fifteen months. He's rebuilt teams after a crisis, helped organizations grow faster than their systems could handle, and sat with leaders in the moments nobody posts about.
Here's what he learned. The leaders who last aren't always the most talented people in the room. They're the ones who did the deeper work. Put two leaders with the same résumé in the same seat and you'll get two completely different organizations. The difference is almost always formation.
That's why LeadBuildLive exists. Larry trained at the Townsend Institute, where he earned an MA in Executive Coaching and Consulting, and he brings that training together with nearly 30 years in the seat. Competence and character. Rigor and warmth. We refuse to pick one.
Larry is also a filmmaker and musician. He co-wrote The Short Game, a feature film released in theaters in 2025 that won six best-picture awards on the festival circuit. Read Larry's full story →
If you're feeling stretched thin, you don't have to stay there. You're capable of more, and we'd love to help you get there.
What we believe about leaders
Formation over information.
Most leaders already know enough. What they need is to become someone who can carry what they know.
Competence and character.
We won't make you choose between rigor and wholeness. The leaders who flourish have both.
Rhythm over resilience.
Endurance will get you through a season. Rhythm is what lets you lead for a lifetime.
